Indian Blunderbuss…………….SOLD
Created on May 2nd 2009
A really nice untouched example of an
Flintlock Indian Blunderbuss
42.1/2″ Overall length. Swamped Steel barrel of 27″ opening to 2″
The barrel being inlaid with brass “key” patterns and scrolls, starting near the lock as a hexagonal section and gradually turning to round for 60% of its length.
Large trade type Brown Bess lock with traditional swan neck cock. The lock bearing the word “Tower” a good crown with “G.R.” under and inspection stamped initials which look to be “J.R.O.” The lock is fully functioning and in good working order. Brass trigger guard and military pattern fittings including buttplate and ramrod pipes.
The full length stock is checkered around the wrist. The stock is decorated with a carved floral pattern and runs full length with a replacement steel ramrod.
The whole piece displays an even aged patina on the steel and lockwork and seems to be undisturbed throughout.
